A promising prequel.
Assassin's Creed Mirage sets a new bar in an ever-evolving franchise that is celebrating its 15th anniversary this year. As we approach Ubisoft Forward on September 10, the fans have been praying for a change after the not so compelling Ancient Trilogy, which of course, gave a sense of fresh air to this amazing Universe.
However, Ubisoft's announcement didn't come empty-handed, multiple pieces of information were given away by a famous industry insider Jason Schreier, who seems to know more than he is willing to admit. Schreier mentioned details such as Basim's visions, the city and the era that it takes place, some of the old school mechanics' return, and much more. I'm not going to lie, this information gave me hope that Assassin's Creed was heading towards a direction that the majority of its fanbase fell in love with. Taking inspiration from the original AC game, this promising new prequel seems to be bringing back challenging target assassinations, tailing missions, brutal combat to test our skills in sword-fighting, and an actual parkour system that will make the world exploration enchanting.

All these features mentioned above aren't there only to fill the paragraph, but these are things that I wish to see implemented into AC Mirage's core gameplay. A huge city, like Paris, to explore with multiple side missions and an appealing story that will captivate me during the game's course. Assassin's Creed Valhalla's side events would also be a great addition to the game's world as you gradually progressing through its story. Still, I'm expecting some sort of an improvement to the stealth mechanics compared to the previous trilogy, and an AI that actually feels threatening instead of being randomly placed in a massive city, waiting for you to cut their throats.
While my hopes are high for this game, I do not expect all of my wishes to come true. I trust the talented people at Ubisoft are giving all their skills and passion into making an AC game that will eventually restore the franchise's previous glory.
